When a Refurbished CT Scanner is in Use: Why Quality Matters

Developed in 1971, Computer Tomography (CT) has been used around the world to help diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions and diseases. A CT scanner provides a complex and life-saving test that helps arm a doctor with the information needed to treat their patient and ultimately make them healthy. When an individual needs to have a test done, their health, and life, often depends on it. They should not be concerned that a refurbished CT scanner may be used to complete their test and that the equipment may not provide the most accurate information and test results possible.

The Quality of a Refurbished CT Scanner

It is important to note that not every CT scanner is selected to be resold as a refurbished CT scanner. The equipment under consideration to become a refurbished CT scanner must be of the highest quality. Tests must be performed on the equipment to make sure the unit qualifies for resale as a refurbished CT scanner.

What is a CT Scanner?

A CT scan provides a three-dimensional model of the section of the body under scrutiny. The CT scanner takes photos from a variety of angles to build the three-dimensional model of the patient?s body. As a result, a complete view of the issue the patient is experiencing can be reviewed by the doctor, providing a higher level of probability nothing will be missed. While a CT scanner uses slightly more radiation than an X-ray, the levels of radiation are not high enough to be a point of concern to the patient.

CT scans are incredibly fast and accurate. Depending on the section of the body and the type of scan needed, a CT scan can be completed in as little as 30 seconds.

The quality of the equipment in use is an important part of the accuracy of the information provided from the test. This is why only the best scanners are sold as a refurbished CT scanner to hospitals and imaging centers. By ensuring the best quality scanners are in use, both patients and doctors can have confidence in the information ascertained during the CT scan.
